PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A former Division of Criminal Investigation special agent is suing over the agency’s response to alleged sexual harassment of her by a county deputy.

Laura Zylstra Kaiser of Aberdeen alleges she was harassed by a Brown County deputy in 2011. Her federal lawsuit claims she was demoted after the alleged harassment.

Zylstra Kaiser says she filed unsuccessful grievances with DCI Director Bryan Gortmaker and Attorney General Marty Jackley.

Her lawsuit says her work relationships suffered after another agent spread word of the alleged harassment.

She says the agency has impeded her outside employment since she left in 2012.

The suit names Gortmaker in his official capacity and the former agent. It doesn’t name the deputy as a defendant.

The attorney general’s office says it hasn’t seen the lawsuit.
