HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police have arrested a man accused of being in a fight outside a club, stealing a patrol car and crashing the vehicle into a ditch.

No officers were hurt in the incident early Thursday. The suspect was treated for a cut hand suffered in the argument outside a bar.

The incident began when police responded to a report of a stabbed man. The seriously injured victim was found in the bar’s parking lot and transported to a hospital.

Officers who drove up had a description of the suspect, spotted him nearby and ran after him. Police say the suspect got into the squad car and drove toward one officer. Another officer opened fire, but didn’t strike anyone.

The chase ended with the car in a ditch.

Charges are pending.
