WASHINGTON (AP) - Local courts in Washington are operating on an emergency schedule because of the visit of Pope Francis.

A court spokeswoman says that on Thursday only adult and juvenile arraignments will take place in Superior Court, along with initial family court hearings for parents whose children have been removed from their custody.

Jurors should report to court on the next scheduled day of service.

Local courts will resume a normal schedule Friday.
