MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an inmate who escaped from Maxwell Federal Prison Camp in Montgomery is back in custody.

U.S. Marshal M. Dante Gordon says 33-year-old Corey Shamaund Mott was recaptured Wednesday night.

Mott escaped from the prison Wednesday afternoon, prompting authorities to issue a warning that Mott should be considered armed and dangerous.

Gordon said Mott was apprehended around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at an intersection in Calera. He was to make an initial appearance Thursday before a federal magistrate judge.
