TOWNVILLE, Pa. (AP) - The son of a 74-year-old man found slain in his northwestern Pennsylvania home has been jailed on $1 million bond after state police chased him while driving the dead man’s pickup truck.

Thirty-three-year-old Dustin Halsaver, of Meadville, has been in the Centre County jail since Wednesday’s 40-mile chase on Interstate 80. Police have charged him with receiving stolen property - the pickup - but not in connection with his father’s death.

That man, 74-year-old Kenneth Halsaver, was found slain about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in his home in Townville. That’s about 90 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Halsaver’s co-workers became concerned when he didn’t report for work and contacted a relative who found the body.

State police say they’re investigating Dustin Halsaver’s “possible involvement” in his father’s death.

Online court records don’t list a defense attorney.
