WILNA, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a trooper is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries suffered when his patrol car crashed on a northern New York road.

Officials say 28-year-old Craig Davin was responding to a road rage incident around 10 p.m. Wednesday when he lost control of his cruiser on a curve and crashed off state Route 3 in the Jefferson County town of Wilna.

Police say the trooper’s car hit and earth embankment and overturned near Fort Drum, 70 miles north of Syracuse.

Davin was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse to be treated.

State police say their investigation into the crash is continuing.
