REDMOND, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Police say two men have been arrested on charges of kidnapping and raping two teen girls who couldn’t get their car started at a store.

James Borchers of Portland and Joseph Cheek of Christmas Valley were taken into custody Thursday night after a trooper stopped them in a stolen vehicle.

The teens - two 17-year-olds from Prineville - told police they were kidnapped at the Redmond Walmart around midnight on Wednesday. When their car wouldn’t start, two men pulled up and offered to let them sit inside their car because it was cold.

Police say after the girls got into the men’s car, the men threatened them with a handgun and drove off with them. The teens said they were drugged and became unconscious. They escaped the men’s residence the next day and notified police.
