FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Police in Fort Myers are investigating a spate of shootings that injured seven people, including a child, on the same night that city officials met to address gun violence in the city.

In just under 6½ hours Wednesday night, seven people - ages 5 to 44 - were shot and rushed to a hospital. No one is in handcuffs yet for any of the four shootings, but all the victims are expected to survive.

Fort Myers Police Chief Dennis Eads says he believes there’s a connection between three of the four shootings.
