ATLANTA (AP) - Police say they are determining whether a murder in southeast Atlanta is connected to a man separately firing an assault rifle at officers.

Lt. Charles Hampton tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1OX4Hon ) that a man in his late 60s was found dead in a home early Friday. Hampton says another man inside the house when officers arrived is being interviewed.

Hampton says police want to know whether that man was involved in an earlier incident. He says a gunman in a stolen minivan fired an AK-47 twice at officers pursuing a stolen minivan before fleeing.

Police found a similar gun behind the Lakewood Avenue home where the 60-year-old man was found.
