MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) - The Baxter County Courthouse could become the home of two veterans busts created by a Mountain Home sculptor.

Baxter County Judge Mickey Pendergrass tells The Baxter Bulletin (https://bit.ly/1VdRxs0 ) that he and artist Ron Moore are discussing the possibility of placing the busts at the courthouse.

He says they both want the busts to be placed in an area that’s highly visible by the public to honor the veterans of America’s current war.

City Council members last week rejected a proposal to place the busts across the street from the courthouse at the Mountain Home Plaza.

Pendergrass says Moore is continuing to look for locations to place the two busts. He says Moore hasn’t finished either bust and they likely won’t be placed anywhere until next year.
