CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Court records show a Conway woman has been sentenced to 30 days in the Faulkner County jail after pleading guilty to a negligent homicide charge involving a traffic accident.

Police said 43-year-old Aretha Perkins rear-ended 29-year-old Lauren Dunn of Conway in August 2014 while Dunn’s motorcycle was stopped while waiting to turn left. Dunn was thrown more than 400 feet and was pronounced dead at a Little Rock hospital.

Police charged Perkins in January and she was arrested a month later in North Little Rock. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported Friday (https://bit.ly/1LCcZky ) that Perkins pleaded guilty Thursday in Faulkner County District Court and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, a year of probation and had her driver’s license revoked for a year. She also must take a driver’s training course.
