NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City couple is being accused of coercing two young women into performing sex acts on customers at two massage parlors the couple owned on Long Island.

Prosecutors say 49-year-old Zhaowei Yin and his wife, 46-year-old Shuwen Ai, were arraigned Thursday on sex trafficking and promoting prostitution charges.

Information on their lawyer wasn’t immediately available.

Prosecutors say the victims had responded to ads in Chinese-language newspapers offering work at the massage parlors. They say the women were threatened with deportation or leaks of naked photos if they didn’t comply with customers’ sex demands.

If convicted, they face up to 25 years in prison.
