MARCHE, Ark. (AP) - Highway crews will close lanes on Interstate 40 between the I-430 and Morgan exits next week so they can remove supports from a bridge that is no longer open.

Workers recently opened a new Marche Road Bridge over I-40 near mile marker 145. Supports for the old bridge will be removed during the overnight hours Monday through Friday of next week.

To accommodate the work, lanes will be closed in both directions. Workers will also move barrier walls and pour asphalt.

Lane closures will occur between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., and traffic will be stopped completely at times between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Crews are adding another lane in each direction of I-40 between North Little Rock and Conway. The work is expected to be done in mid-2016.
