OBERLIN, La. (AP) - A former Allen Parish sheriff’s deputy has been convicted of malfeasance for using the agency’s credit card to buy fuel, which he later resold.

The American Press reports (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb) 46-year-old Patrick Buxton, of Oakdale, was charged with using the sheriff’s office credit card to buy 6,949 gallons of gasoline.

Authorities said he filled 55-gallon drums and resold the fuel.

Buxton faces up to 15 years in prison and an $8,000 fine.

A judge on Thursday set sentencing for Nov. 30.
