JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The John Kasich presidential campaign has put together an 18-person leadership team in Mississippi.

U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper, former U.S. Sen. Trent Lott and attorney Andy Taggart had already endorsed the Ohio governor earlier this month. In the 1990s, Taggart was chief of staff for Kirk Fordice, Mississippi’s first Republican governor since Reconstruction.

They are joined by 15 others, including three state senators - Giles Ward of Louisville, Josh Harkins of Flowood and Brice Wiggins of Pascagoula. Ward is the Senate president pro tempore.

Mike Tagert, the northern district state transportation commissioner, is also on the list.
