EL CERRITO, Calif. (AP) - A man remains in jail a week after allegedly trying to stab customers at a Northern California grocery store.

The Contra Costa Times reports (https://bayareane.ws/1KU6SaH ) 53-year-old Rodwick Keener of Richmond was arrested Sept. 18.

Police had responded to an El Cerrito Safeway to reports of a man with a knife trying to stab people. Officers located the man in the store parking lot.

Police say Keener had ignored officers’ commands and had turned to confront the officers when they used a Taser to subdue him.

Keener was then taken into custody without further incident.

He is being held at the Contra Costa County Jail.
