MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A 21-year-old man has been found guilty in the slaying of a Memphis nurse two years ago.

Multiple media outlets report that Dondre Johnson was found guilty in Shelby County Criminal Court Thursday of first-degree murder after the August 2013 shooting death of 27-year-old David Santucci. Johnson will face a mandatory life sentence when he is sentenced.

Prosecutors say Johnson and Mario Patterson approached Santucci after he left a party, demanded money from him and then shot him.

Jerrica Norfleet testified that she had been in a vehicle with Johnson and Patterson prior to the shooting and said she drove the two men away from the scene.

The cases are pending for both Patterson, who is charged with first-degree murder, and Norfleet, who is indicted as an accessory after the fact.
