FRANKLIN, Ga. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a person whose body was found in a wooded area in eastern Georgia.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in statement Friday that a partially decomposed body was discovered by hunters. They reported the discovery of the body to the Heard County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was described as an adult black male, who is between 5-foo1-10 to 6-foot tall. He was wearing size XXL black Champion brand sweat pants, a light-colored T-shirt that contains blue writing and a 1981 Belize logo on the front along with size 14 Puma tennis shoes.

The GBI Medical Examiner’s Office says the autopsy results revealed the man’s cause of death by a gunshot wound has been ruled a homicide.
