BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Montana State University set an enrollment record of 15,688 students this fall - a 1.7 percent jump of 267 students compared to last year.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports (https://goo.gl/BlyGJf ) the increase continues a decade of growth for the university, which has seen record enrollment nine times in the last 10 years. In 2005, MSU’s fall headcount was 12,250, meaning the university has grown by 3,438 students - or 28 percent - over the last decade.

MSU’s colleges of engineering, agriculture and business are its fastest-growing.

This year’s freshman class also is the largest in MSU history, with 3,026 students - a 3 percent increase over last year’s count of 2,943.
