ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police say they have arrested a suspect in a sexual assault reported during Dragon Con, the annual science fiction and fantasy convention.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1KGHj9p ) reports that Gary Jefferson Hood was arrested Thursday. Atlanta police spokesman Warren Pickard confirmed the arrest.

Hood is being held in the Fulton County Jail and faces charges of aggravated sexual battery and misdemeanor sexual assault. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.

According to a police report the woman left a convention panel when she felt unwell. The report says a man who approached her in the hotel later led her to the entrance of a nearby mall where he began to kiss and fondle her.

Police previously released a photo of the suspect hoping to find someone who recognized him.
