ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) - A driver is accused of striking a pedestrian who died and fleeing the scene in St. Cloud.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 56-year-old James Olsen of St. Cloud was killed Wednesday night while crossing Minnesota Highway 23. The State Patrol says the 27-year-old St. Cloud man arrested was one of two drivers who hit Olsen, who died at the scene.

According to the State Patrol, the suspect and a 51-year-old Sartell woman were driving in the same direction on the highway and had a green light. The State Patrol says the woman hit Olsen first, and the suspect changed lanes to pass her, hitting Olsen.

The suspect was later arrested and was booked at Benton County Jail.
