PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Paterson Police say three shootings reported within hours of each other have hospitalized three people, including one victim who was seriously injured.

Lt. Patrick Murray tells NJ.com (https://bit.ly/1Vevw76 ) the first victim, a 30-year-old man, was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center around midnight Thursday.

Police say the man was in a vehicle on state Route 20 when another car pulled up alongside and opened fire. The man, shot in his face, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Murray says someone fired off several rounds at a group gathered near Cobb Memorial Park about two hours later. A 35-year-old man was struck in the stomach.

The third victim, a 22-year-old man, was shot in his upper leg around 9:20 a.m. while traveling on a motorized scooter.



All three investigations are ongoing.
