ENOCHVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Rowan County sheriff’s deputies think they have identified suspects in vandalism at a cemetery in Enochville.

The Salisbury Post reported (https://bit.ly/1KDfI89) that deputies have been investigating a number of thefts, vandalism and burglaries in the Enochville area.

In one instance, more than three dozen tombstones were destroyed at St. Enoch’s Lutheran Church.

Investigator Nathan Phillips said only one of the six has been charged with crimes related to the thefts and vandalism so far. He said several of the other suspects are on juvenile probation because of past convictions.

Police say all six of the suspects are under the age of 16. Four of the suspects are male and two are female.
