BURLINGAME, Calif. (AP) - A commuter train hit two cars that had been abandoned on the tracks in the San Francisco Bay Area, but there are no reports of any injuries.

SamTrans spokesman Will Reisman says the San Francisco-bound Caltrain with 900 people and 48 bikes aboard hit the two cars at about 5:40 p.m. Friday in Burlingame.

Reisman says the people in the vehicles were able to get out before the train hit. There are no reported injuries among the train passengers.

About an hour later the tracks were cleared of debris and trains started slowly running again through the area that’s about 15 miles south of downtown San Francisco.
