STAUNTON, Va. (AP) - Authorities have ruled a utility worker’s death in a fall as an accident.

Augusta County Sheriff’s Deputy Felicia Glick tells The News Leader (https://bit.ly/1VaRkWD) that the ruling was made even though the office had not received a toxicology report in the Sept. 12 death of 22-year-old Dustin Hamilton Killen of Lexington, Alabama.

Deputies have said Killen was helping replace power lines. He was in the bucket of a truck when he fell 83 feet while cutting electrical wires. The wires sprang back and sheared the bucket off the truck, and Killen fell to the ground.

Deputies say Killen was an employee of Irby Construction.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration continues to investigate the accident.
