MIDVALE, Utah (AP) - Two people wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in the Salt Lake Valley have been hospitalized after crashing a vehicle into a parked flat-bed truck.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1jgxgBc ) that the pair’s Honda CRV drifted off the road in Midvale on Thursday. The female passenger suffered extensive injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver, a man, was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Unified Police Sgt. Jared Richardson says the driver is a convicted felon who had warrants out for his arrest. The names of the two were not released.

Richardson says the pair was not being followed and that it was unclear why they swerved and crashed into the truck. Investigators believe drug use may have contributed to the crash.
