HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - A 23-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and other counts in a southwest Ohio crash last spring that injured several utility workers.

Michele Schuster (SHOO’-stir) of Cincinnati was arraigned Thursday in Butler County after her indictment this week on nine charges that also include one count of operating a vehicle under the influence.

West Chester police say her Chevrolet Cavalier swerved across center line in the April 22 accident, hitting Duke Energy subcontractor workers who were on a job. Twenty-four-old Amber Rooks of Norwood died May 2 of injuries from the accident. Four other workers from Ohio and Kentucky were also injured.

A judge ordered Schuster not to drive while she remains free on bond. He also warned her against contact with any of the victims.
