ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Transylvania County deputies are investigating two homicides in the Asheville area.

Authorities tell local media outlets that 33-year-old Caleb Paul Shook was shot and killed on Thursday night in Cedar Mountain.

The victim’s brother, 41-year-old Travis Ted Shook, has been charged with murder and is being held without bond. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.

In a second incident, 45-year-old Thomas Coke Bayne of Lake Toxaway was shot and killed early Friday in what authorities say was a domestic dispute.

There has been no arrest in that case.
