FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Three of four dogs surrendered to the Larimer Humane Society by a no-kill animal rescue have found temporary housing following a dispute over management of their previous home.

The animals, which were surrendered by All Aboard Animal Rescue’s medical director, Dr. Eric Boehmer, were transferred to Bounce Rescue on Friday. Bounce was formed by All Aboard Animal Rescue’s former executive director, Ashley Dinger, after her Sept. 10 departure from the organization.

The Berthoud-based rescue received its license this week and has applied for nonprofit status, Dinger said.

Dinger said she was fired from the organization due to a “difference of opinion.”

Boehmer said Dinger chose not to continue her employment after being questioned about her spending on behalf of the nonprofit organization.

Dinger and Bounce volunteers picked up Boomer, a 3-year-old pit bull mix, Dozer, a 1-year-old Neapolitan mastiff, and Foggy, a 5-month-old German shepherd puppy, from the Larimer Humane Society where they faced possible euthanasia. Bella, the fourth dog surrendered by Boehmer, is expected to be transferred to Bounce after a quarantine for a biting incident is lifted, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reported (https://tinyurl.com/py4dmbt ).

Aside from performing euthanization at an owner’s request, Humane Society staff will euthanize animals for extreme medical or behavioral reasons, including severe aggression.

Dinger is one of three All Aboard Animal Rescue’s four staff members to quit in recent weeks while citing concerns with Boehmer’s role with the nonprofit. Boehmer said he plans to work to revive the nonprofit, which oversees the foster care and transitional care of more than 60 potentially adoptable dogs.
