LISBON, Iowa (AP) - Officials in the eastern Iowa town of Libson are looking for ways to keep vandals from the city park’s new splash pad.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/1gXF7BL ) that in recent weeks, vandals have dumped rocks and mud into the newly-opened splash pad and adjacent wading pool and ridden scooters into the area.

Libson City Administrator Connie Meier says the vandalism takes a lot of cleanup and requires maintenance workers to spend weekends cleaning up the mess. Officials suspect older kids are the culprits.

Meier says one option might be to install surveillance cameras to keep watch over the park.
