PHOENIX (AP) - Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body on a popular hiking trail in central Phoenix.

Authorities say hikers were on Piestewa Peak on Saturday around 8 a.m. when they reported the body on the west side of the mountain.

Investigators say the evidence so far indicates no signs of foul play but the manner of death is not clear.

Phoenix fire officials describe the man as older but authorities are still trying to confirm his identity.

Police are blocking off the area for investigators.
