BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Enrollment is up at LSU Shreveport.

The college says its enrollment has increased by 8 percent for this fall semester. The college also says it has the largest freshman class in three years, a growth of over 10 percent.

LSU-S says its programs in health care, business and graphic design are driving the growth.

Chancellor Larry Clark says the college is attracting students because of the university’s focus on career preparation and internships.

The university also says it has seen a rising number of students in its graduate programs.

The LSU campus in Shreveport offers more than 20 undergraduate degree programs, a dozen master’s degree programs and a doctoral degree in education in leadership studies.
