SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a man is facing charges of burglary, criminal damage and trespassing after a barricade situation at a Scottsdale apartment complex.

Scottsdale police say 49-year-old James Philbee III was taken into custody Friday afternoon after a 2 ½-hour standoff.

Officers responded to a call of a man kicking in the front door to an apartment about 1 p.m.

When the officers arrived at the complex, police say Philbee barricaded himself inside the apartment and refused to come out.

They say Philbee had been formally evicted from the apartment by the Maricopa County constable one week ago and the locks to the apartment were changed last Saturday.

A police SWAT team responded to assist with the situation.

Police say Philbee eventually surrendered and there were no injuries.
