ATHENS, Greece (AP) - Defending champion Olympiakos thrashed visiting Giannena 5-1 to maintain its perfect record in the Greek league on Saturday.

Three days before facing Arsenal in a Champions League game in London, Olympiakos had the chance to rest some starters.

Defensive lapses allowed Pajtim Kasami, in the 31st minute, and Costas Fortounis, a minute later, to score the first two goals, with Alberto Botia adding a third in the 42nd with a smashing header off a corner kick. Defender Themistocles Tzimopoulos gifted Olympiakos with an own goal in the 52nd and Jimmy Durmaz made it 5-0 with a penalty kick in the 72nd. Andi Lila scored a consolation goal in the 86th.

Also, Kalloni beat Panetolikos 5-1 and Xanthi drew 1-1 at newcomer Iraklis.
