TUNICA, Miss. (AP) - Tunica County has fired a sheriff’s commander accused of forcing a deputy to have sex with him.

WMC-TV reports that the sheriff’s office has fired Commander Eugene Bridges.

A complaint obtained by the television station alleges that Bridges forced a female deputy to have sex with him in various locations while on duty. The female deputy says Bridges threatened that she would be fired if he didn’t comply. She says Bridges infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.

The department hasn’t commented directly on the allegations. However, in a Wednesday news release, the sheriff’s office says it does not condone sexual or workplace harassment and says it is investigating several employees for possible violations of department policy.

WMC-TV says it couldn’t locate Bridges for comment. He hasn’t been charged criminally.
