MEDORA, N.D. (AP) - People who want to spend the day in Theodore Roosevelt National Park can do it for free.

The western North Dakota park on Saturday offered free admission to mark National Public Lands Day. Regular camping fees remained in effect.

National Park Service entrance fees also will be waived on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park Interpretation Chief Eileen Andes said it’s a chance for people to “experience the park, spend time outdoors and enjoy the last of the beautiful fall colors.”
