SHAFTSBURY, Vt. (AP) - A Shaftsbury man is facing numerous charges after allegedly hitting three police cruisers during a chase.

Police were responding to a complaint about an intoxicated man causing a scene at a Bennington restaurant Friday when they say they tried to pull over 27-year-old Travis Squires as he was leaving but he sped off.

Authorities used a rolling road block to try to stop him but say he accelerated and hit two state police cruisers and a sheriff’s department cruiser before speeding off.

Squires was taken into custody in Hoosick, New York, on unrelated charges. He’s facing numerous charges in Vermont, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon. He’s being held on $10,000 bail. It’s not immediately known if he is being represented by an attorney.
