DUMMERSTON, Vt. (AP) - Volunteers are taking part in the second day of the Connecticut River Watershed Council’s annual Source to the Sea river cleanup.

Citizens turned out - many sponsored by area businesses - on Friday for the start of the annual event that takes place in the four states touched by the river. More are expected for the second day of the work on Saturday.

Among the groups participating is the Southeastern Vermont Watershed Alliance, which will be working around the Dummerston Covered Bridge from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

In Keene and Swanzey, New Hampshire, the Cheshire County Conservation District will be cleaning tributaries including the Ashuelot River, Branch River and Beaver Brook.
