MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - A lengthy standoff at a southern New Jersey home ended without any injuries.

Authorities say charges are pending against a man who barricaded himself inside the Monroe Township home on Saturday. They say he made threats and fired several random shots in the home before he eventually was taken into custody without incident.

Police went to the Mannington Drive home around 3 a.m. Saturday after a resident there reportedly made threats against others who also live in the home.

The other residents had left the home by the time police arrived. A Gloucester County SWAT team also responded to the site due to “the nature of the threats.”

The standoff lasted several hours before the man was captured. He was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
