KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (AP) - Wake County deputies say a 47-year-old man was shot and killed by a homeowner as he walked up the driveway of a Knightdale home.

Investigators told media outlets that two men in a pickup truck dropped Derrick Natson off at the home around 3:45 p.m. Saturday and drove off.

Authorities say 36-year-old Neil Algernon Curtis Dick shot and killed Natson as he walked up the driveway. Dick was charged with first-degree murder Sunday.

Deputies also want to talk to the men who dropped Natson off.

Authorities haven’t determined why Natson was shot.

Dick is being held without bond. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
