DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (AP) - Officials say three people have been injured when a camper exploded in East Tennessee.

Jefferson County Sheriff Bud McCoig told the Knoxville News Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1Jym0Fl) that a couple and their grandson were injured in the blast on Saturday morning at Swann’s Marina in Dandridge. McCoig said they were trying to light a gas stove in their camper.

The sheriff identified the couple as Jerry and Joyce Fender of Asheville, North Carolina. The boy wasn’t identified because he is a minor.

McCoig said all three were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, but two were later transferred to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

Updated conditions weren’t immediately available.

This version corrects the spelling of Asheville.
