BRADY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a stolen car found in a Saginaw County pond apparently was intentionally dumped in the water.

The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/1Rbl7Zr ) a piece of wood was keeping the gas pedal to the floor of the Ford Taurus or Tempo, which was found Sept. 22 in Brady Township with keys in its ignition and the gear in drive.

Sheriff’s Lt. Randy Pfau says the car’s trunk and glove compartment were empty and both front windows were rolled down.

Pfau earlier said records show it was reported stolen in 2001 in Oakley.

The investigation is ongoing. A man and his granddaughter were fishing when they spotted what turned out to be the car about 30 yards from shore at the pond, about 75 miles northwest of Detroit.
