PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) - Construction of a new $9.8 million Blue Water Area Transit bus hub in Port Huron is scheduled to be completed this fall.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports (https://bwne.ws/1FCKvpz ) the facility’s grand opening is planned for Nov. 9.

Blue Water Area Transit general manager Jim Wilson says the 7,400-square-foot facility’s outer walls and windows are close to finished and its canopy is partially up.

Wilson says the project is coming in about $300,000 under budget. About 70 percent of the project’s cost came from federal funds.

One of the transfer facility’s two buildings will house retail and training space for clients of St. Clair County Community Mental Health.
