CRESCENT, Okla. (AP) - Structural engineers are assessing the damage caused by a July earthquake at Crescent Public Schools buildings.

The 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit Crescent on July 27. Superintendent Mickey Hart tells the Enid News & Eagle (https://bit.ly/1PJv8w4 ) that the district evacuated part of the high school building after finding infrastructure damage to the practice gymnasium walls.

Hart says engineers have inspected every building for damage but they still haven’t come up with a repair plan or cost estimate for the project. He says the district could consider building new facilities if more damage is found.

The school district has earthquake insurance and immediately filed a claim.
