LITHONIA, Ga. (AP) - Two MARTA police officers were arrested after being accused of disorderly conduct at a Lithonia bar.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1NXNg68 ) reports 44-year-old Malcolm Leon Nichols and 38-year-old Cedrone Durand Hodges were drinking early Friday morning when an off-duty DeKalb officer and a reserve officer working security details announced it was closing time.

Authorities said Nichols became combative when he was told to leave and used a racial slur. Officials said Hodges became aggressive when he learned the officers working security had summoned help from on-duty officers.

Hodges and Nichols were cited for disorderly conduct. Nichols was also cited for public intoxication. They were released on bond. It was unclear Monday whether they had attorneys.

MARTA officials said the two officers were on paid leave while an internal investigation is conducted.
