DENVER (AP) - A 23-month-old Denver boy who investigators say was abused by his mother and her boyfriend died of blunt-force injuries and burns.

The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/cDCDTj ) an autopsy released Monday says Jayvion Johnson had bruises and abrasions on his face and scalp as well as on his back and buttocks. Investigators also found burns on 15 percent of his body “consistent with scalding injuries.”

The boy’s July 8 death has been ruled a homicide.

Jayvion’s mother, 29-year-old Candice Lampley; and her boyfriend, 36-year-old Delonta Crank; were both charged in July with first-degree murder in the toddler’s death.

Lampley and Crank are being held at Denver’s downtown jail without bail. Jail documents do not indicate if either has hired an attorney.
