LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities are looking for a man in connection with a shooting that left an officer injured —but it’s not what you think.

Las Vegas police say they’re searching for the good Samaritan who rushed to the aid of Officer Thomas Clevenger on Sept. 6.

The officer was shot in the hand while waiting at a southeastern Las Vegas intersection to make a left turn in a marked police SUV.

In a newly released video, a man is seen driving to an adjacent 7-11 store in a light-colored Mercedes. He rushed in and then ran out with towels to Clevenger while the other officer arrested the shooter.

Police said the good Samaritan left the scene before being identified and that they are looking for him to thank him for his assistance.
