MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A 22-year-old man suspected of a Mason City robbery has been captured.

Authorities say 22-year-old Valentine Flores II was arrested Sunday night after a brief foot chase in Mason City. Police say two officers received minor injuries while apprehending Flores. Online court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to comment on Flores’ behalf.

Flores was sought in the Aug. 23 robbery of 20-year-old William Whipple and for a parole violation. Whipple was found unresponsive in a Mason City home three days later and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Investigators are awaiting complete autopsy results and have not said whether they suspect a crime was involved in Whipple’s death.
