LULING, La. (AP) - St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies say a New Orleans pilot died when his plane crash over the weekend.

Multiple news outlets reports Guy Seghers was found dead near a St. Charles airport Sunday afternoon, a day after fellow pilots said he had not come back from a flight.

Authorities found Seghers and his Zenith 601 two-seat plane in a wooded area a little beyond the Ama Airport runway east of Luling.

The search for Seghers began Saturday around 7 p.m. and included a Jefferson Parish helicopter and the Bayou Gauche Fire Department.
