BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) - Police are investigating a possible connection between two shootings that happened on the same day in southern New Jersey.

NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/1iVvx4b ) that a man was shot around 10 a.m. Sunday morning on Irving Avenue in Bridgeton. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital where authorities say he’s in critical but stable condition.

Another man was shot around 8 p.m. He was hospitalized with injuries that are considered not life-threatening. The identities of both men have not been released.

Police Chief Michael Gaimari says he does not think the shootings are gang-related, but that they could be a result of clashing individuals.
